Oliver Leicht [Acht.]
The german word Acht equals eight and in this case can be explained as two times four:
The Quartet 'herrenrunde' with Oliver Leicht (as, cl) Norbert Scholly (guit) Ingmar Heller (b) and Jens Düppe (dr) joined by another Quartet of Brass-Players with Christine Chapman (frhrn) Christian Jaksjø (euph) Steve Trop (tb) and Ed Partyka (btb, tuba).

Oliver Leicht has created an unusual Ensemble which is able to perform his very complex Arrangements without loosing the interactive Possibilities of a small Group. The Jazz Quartet Instrumentation of saxophone,

guitar, bass and drums is augmented and supported by a Quartet of low brass-instruments featuring frenchhorn euphonium,

trombone and tuba. The Ensemble has the subtlety and flexibility of a Combo but when required to has all the muscle

of a Big Band.
